  • Whole Body Method Pilates — Practicing Pilates with the Whole Body Method is more than just a workout. It's creating a better body and health through awareness, postural alignment and spinal flexibility. It's not merely a collection of exercises, but a carefully developed method refined over a period of sixty years;
  • Whole Body Gyrotonic — The Gyrotonic Method uses specialized equipment to take your body into gentle spiraling and twisting movements that we believe you will absolutely love. The movements contain similar elements to those found in yoga. As a perfect complement to Pilates, Gyrotonics is holistic in nature, linking the breath, mind and emotions. It promotes a tremendous sense of well-being, delivering increased energy, greater mind-body awareness, long, lean muscles, improved posture and a strong core. The Gyrotonic Method consists of low-impact exercises that are highly beneficial for the elderly, pre and post-natal women and those recovering from injuries.

Group Classes:

  • Beginner Pilates (Level 1-2) — This class is focused on practicing and connecting with the foundational classical Pilates movements. Focus is on posture awareness, core strengthening and breath;
  • Beginner/Intermediate Pilates (Level 1-3) — This class is the perfect bridge between your beginner and intermediate Pilates workouts. You will discover new exercises to build from the basics, as you deepen your internal strength, spinal flexibility and body awareness;
  • Intermediate Pilates (Level 2-4) — Pilates Intermediate challenges the body as you work through a higher skill level of classical exercises that develop internal power, flexibility and grace. You will flex, twist and extend your body under the expert guidance of our instructors;
  • Advanced Pilates (Level 4-5) — Pilates Advanced requires you to already have a strong connection to your body, so you can then safely enjoy the rewards of advanced Pilates exercises;
  • Pilates Cardio Jump (All Levels) — By attaching the springboard to the Classical Reformer, you will receive amazing benefits that include leg-toning, cardio- conditioning and lymphatic health. You will start on the Reformer and then attach the spring board for 15-20 minutes of the workout as you get fit and flexible;
  • Pilates & X-Training (All Levels) — Our signature class combines 30 minutes of classical Pilates with 30 minutes of fitness training using trampolines, resistance bands and balls. It's a unique X-training experience that works you from inside to out;
  • Pilates TRX (All Levels) — We combine the popular TRX training system which uses your own body weight as resistance with classical Pilates, for one very effective whole body workout;
  • Classical Pilates MIX (Level 2-4) — We'll mix the Classical Reformer Pilates routine with exercises on the Wunda Chair, Pilates Mat and Magic Circle . It's a way to get even deeper into your Pilates body and experience more of the complete classical work (You must be at least intermediate level to participate);

Appointments:

  • Private Sessions: We recommend Private Sessions for the Pilates Beginner. We are available for one-on-one sessions 7 days a week. These sessions are the most ideal for people who want to advance their Pilates Training, or if they have any physical limitations or injuries that would prohibit their ability to join a group.
  • Shared Sessions: Shared Sessions are 2 to 3 people in the class. This is a great way to share the cost of Pilates. Bring a friend, or inquire at the desk about joining a number of existing sessions already on the schedule.

Classes (all classes are up to 7 people in the class):

  1. Group Reformer Classes: The Group Reformer Class utilizes spring-controlled resistance to build core strength, increase flexibility, endurance and coordination. The result is a strong, yet flexible, well-toned body, without muscle bulk. Group Reformer Classes are up to seven people in the class. All levels are welcome;
  2. Jumpboard Classes: Super charge your workout with this cardio-jumpboard class on the Reformer. Reap the benefits of a cardio-based workout while doing Pilates lying down! This is an intermediate/advanced class! Requires a pre-requisite of 10 group reformer classes or instructor approval. Book a Jumpboard Class;
  3. Pre-Post Natal Pilates: Prior experience required before joining a group class. Private Sessions are recommended. Lynne DeMarco, the owner, is certified in Pre-Post Natal Pilates. All other instructors are certified and/or experienced working with pregnant clients, and are able to modify the workout appropriately for the pregnant client. Pilates is great for pregnancy, before and after your birth. Pilates develops your overall muscle strength and flexibility. It helps you to relax and teaches you to breathe deeply; skills that will help you before, during, and after delivery. By doing Pilates when your pregnant you will increase circulation to the fetus, as well as strengthening the muscles needed to give birth.
  4. Barre Classes:
  • Barre-Combo A unique blend of Modern Barre, Pilates Reformer, Mat Work and other Small Equipment. This class incorporates intense Abdominal and Gluteal work both at the Barre and on the Mat. It utilizes safe and effective Pilates Reformer techniques, and includes some cardio-based exercises at the Barre, and on the Reformer-Jumpboard;
  • Floor Barre-Combo This class is a combination of Strength and Stretching Exercises done on the Pilates Mat, and on the Modern Barre. It will incorporate small equipment, while focusing on building core strength and lengthening the muscles with no impact on the joints. It is a very challenging but fun workout! All levels welcome;
  • Classical Ballet Barre This traditional ballet class offers the chance to learn classical technique at the barre. Ballet Barre increases strength, flexibility, posture, balance and coordination.

Instructors:

  • Ana Debasa — She became certified in 1999 at Perfectly Fit, a Classical Pilates Studio. She worked at Perfectly Fit for a few years before coming to Mind-Body Fitness Pilates Studio in 2001, and has worked here ever since;
  • Abigail Eiland — Abigail was certified through Pilates Sports Center, Encino CA. in 2011, studying both Classical and West Coast Style Pilates;
  • Amanda Killian — She received her Pilates Teacher Training Certification August, 2002 from Perfectly Fit in La Canada, CA.  Her movement background includes Ballet, Classical Indian Dance, Korean Dance, Tap, Tai Chi and Ariel Circus work;
  • Genevieve Lee — She received her certification from Body Arts and Science International (BASI), in February 2012. As a former dancer and yogini, Genevieve developed a keen eye for alignment and a solid understanding of movement;
  • Natalie Frost — She started gymnastics and dance at the age of six and has always felt the need to be active and connected to her body. She became an AFAA certified Personal Trainer in 2010;
  • Sean Colley — He started to explore yoga and Pilates to help remedy his pain. Sean was introduced to the classical Pilates method and began attending classes. Sean made the decision to enroll in Whole Body Method's Pilates Instructor Program;
  • Liam — He began as a dancer in The Australian Ballet and worked his way to London, Off-Broadway and Broadway in dance companies and Musical Theatre. He is a PMA certified Classical Pilates instructor/ Liam was fully certified at Whole Body Method in 2007 by Nigel Sampson, Director;
  • Shana Stark — She is a Certified Pilates instructor since 2006. She received her Classical Certification with PMA sanctioned Whole Body Method in Los Angeles;
  • Gloria Tinajero — She is a Los Angeles native and health enthusiast, is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach where she studied dance & dance physiology. She holds a Pilates Teacher Certification from Body Arts & Sciences International, which she earned in 2006.

We are a hybrid gym offering Muay Thai Kickboxing, kettlebells, circuit training, functional strength and conditioning, weight loss and nutrition. Our goal is to help clients take charge of their lives by achieving physical goals, learning a healthier way to live and being a part of a positive, supportive community.

  • Tyler Schaeffer — CSCS, SFG II, Personal Trainer, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach;

  • Nathan Foster — Muay Thai Coach, Strength Coach, Personal Trainer and Muay Thai Fighter;

  • Patrick Webb — NASM Certified Personal Trainer, SFG I, Strength and Conditioning Coach;

  • Christian Blackburn — NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Programs:

Strength Foundations

Barbell and Kettlebell:

  1. Proper warm up 10 mins;
  2. Skill work: mostly with kettlebells 10 mins;
  3. Strength: Barbell lift 15-20 mins;
  4. Accessory/body weight resistance training 10 mins (sometimes included in program);
  5. Conditioning: kettlebell and body weight complexes 10-15 mins;
  6. Stretch/Cool down 5 mins.

Fighter Fit:

  1. Warm up 10 mins;
  2. Lower-body resistance training strength sets 10 mins — kettlebell or body weight;
  3. Upper-body resistance training strength sets 10 mins — kettlebell or body weight;
  4. Circuit training using full body metabolic conditioning, core stabilization, aerobic training, power training, resistance training and bodyweight training. 20 mins;
  5. Finisher/Stretch/Cooldown — 5-10 mins.
