Programs:

  • Beginners' TaiJi — This is a short form that can be completed in 5-10 minutes, good for relaxing and improving one's body and health. Each week, new movements are added to the form, each new movement brings new discoveries;
  • Open Push Hands — Push hands is the two-person TaiJi training. We focus on soft-style push hands as popularized by Prof. Cheng. Skills include rooting, listening, neutralizing, and returning power.

Instructor — Terry Collins. He was a favored student of Master Don Ahn, a master of esoteric Daoism. Terry has been studying the art of TaiJiQuan for over 15 years, and was certified as a teacher in 2005. He has learned Daoist Meditation, Rooting Power, TaiJiQuan, Push Hands, Da Lu, Sword Form, Knife, and Double Knife. Terry continues his studies of TaiJi in the Chen Style, with Master Ren Guang Yi (20th Generation Chen Style Master), and has received instruction from Master Chen, Xiao Wang (Chen family standard-bearer).

Classes:

  • Core Curriculum — centers on four core disciplines: Eternal Spring Chi Kung™, the Tai Chi form, Nei Kung, and Meditation;
  • Tai Chi Chuan;
  • Nei Kung — is an internal system of Chi Kung, employing slow, deep breathing and requiring a relaxed physical stance and mental attitude;
  • Meditation;
  • Eternal Spring Chi Kung™ (Eternal Spring) — It is a healing exercise program and health maintenance system created by Grandmaster C. K. Chu. It includes aspects of Tai Chi, Nei Kung, and meditation.

Instructors:

  • Benjamin Ho — He began his education and practice of Chu Tai Chi in July of 2001. Tai Chi Chuan is the only martial arts Benjamin has ever studied. His favorite memory at the school was when he was asked by the late Grandmaster C.K. Chu to begin Apprenticeship Teaching in March of 2004;
  • Alex Kamlet — He had the privilege of learning Tai Chi and Nei Kung with Master C.K Chu since July, 1988. From 1996 to 1998 he was an assistant teacher. In 1998 Alex Kamlet started teaching classes independently. In April 2004 Alex received a Letter of Certification signed by the Master C.K Chu, to teach the disciplines of Tai Chi Chuan, Nei Kung, and Eternal Spring Chi Kung;
  • Grace Kim — She has been a student at CK Chu Tai Chi since 2005. Over the last 9 years, she has cultivated her internal martial arts training with a foundation built on tai chi, nei kung, and meditation. She is an occupational therapist at Weill Cornell Medical Center in the stroke rehabilitation research program and is currently a PhD candidate in the Occupational Therapy department at New York University;
  • Valerie LoGuidice — Started as a student in 2008. Was introduced to the school through the wonderful free classes offered at Bryant Park. After assisting at the park and the morning classes at the studio, she received certification as an Eternal Spring Instructor in 2013. She also received certification as a Medical Qigong Practitioner in 2013;
  • Steve Miller — He has been studying Tai Chi since 1987, and began assisting Master Chu in 1994. In 2011, He retired from a 30+ year career in Telecommunications, and currently spend a majority of my time teaching and practicing Tai Chi.

  • Rachel Volk — She is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. She began her CrossFit journey at CFER in 2014. She was a competitive gymnast for 12 years and was selected as an NCA All-American Cheerleader all 4 years of high school;
  • Jay Goebel — He is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, as well as Pendlay Olympic Lifting Level 2 certified. Jay is a lifelong athlete and has been a CrossFitter since 2010. Prior to finding CrossFit, Jay played for Colby College on their NCAA Ice Hockey team;
  • Brad Hoover — He has been athletic his entire life, from hiking and climbing to racquet sports and ultimate Frisbee. However, he avoided gyms until finding CrossFit in 2012. Brad is a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, and holds CrossFit Trainer certifications in Olympic Lifting, Kettlebell, Gymnastics, Strongman and Mobility;
  • Eric J. Leon — He is a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer.
