CrossFit at Depot Hollywood Depot Hollywood

Group CrossFit Classes typically includes:

  1. Dynamic warm-up, including stretching and mobility work. (approx. 10 minutes);

  2. Strength/Skill/Technique session, designed to improve strength or to become more proficient in a particular Olympic lift or gymnastic movement. (approx. 15 minutes);

  3. WOD or conditioning workout, combining strength and cardio movements with high intensity effort. (ranging from 5-20+ minutes);

  4. Cool down and active recovery stretching session. (approx. 5-10 minutes).

Other Classes:

  • Open gym hours provide our members an additional opportunity to work on various skills, techniques, or to simply do their own work out. We always have a coach available during these hours to offer help and address any questions you might have. Open hours is available to all Unlimited memberships at no additional cost;
  • Competitors Class is open to all members who participate or intend to participate in CrossFit competitions. These classes are held once a week and typically entail longer and even more challenging WODs than in our standard programming (although scaled versions will still be available);

Classes at the Hollywood Dojo are taught by a staff of trained and dedicated Black Belt instructors supervised by Los Angeles Branch Chief Jun Shihan John Greene. All of the instructors are volunteers with outside professional careers, and almost all black belts have been training with Jun Shihan John for over 10 years.

A typical class at a Seido dojo consists of the following: stretching and warm-ups followed by review of basic techniques such as striking, kicking and blocking. This is followed by Kata (formal exercise) and self-defense techniques. Sparring, or Kumite, is practiced by more advanced students after they develop control and become comfortable with their technique. The beginner is encouraged to progress at their own pace with no pressure of competition. The competition is not with others, but within yourself. It doesn’t matter whether you are out of shape or in excellent condition, every Seido student progresses at their own chosen rate.

Muay Thai Kickboxing at Legends MMA Legends MMA 1 Photo

Legends' Muay Thai class teaches our unique striking system created by Chris Reilly. It combines Western Boxing footwork and punching with traditional Muay Thai kicks, knees, elbows, and clinch. This striking system makes it easy to adapt to different styles of competition, MMA, full rules Muay thai, K1 or Glory WS kickboxing rules or western boxing.

  • True Warrior Muay Thai — the art of 8 limbs, Reilly-Style. In this class students learn how to put together all of the basic elements of the Legends MMA Muay Thai system. Class starts with jump rope and footwork-focused shadow boxing to warm up. Then students are partnered to learn and perform various technique and biomechanic drills such as putting together combos, proper defense against strikes, clinch-work, setting up feints, and other strategies. After that, class ends with strength and conditioning.

Fitness Kickboxing & Muay Thai at Foxy & Fierce Women’s Kickboxing Bootcamp Foxy & Fierce Women’s Kickboxing Bootcamp 2 Photo 1 Video

All of Foxy and Fierce Women’s Kickboxing Bootcamp classes are one hour and each class includes 25 to 30 minutes of strength training using free weights and other equipment and 25-30minutes of real Muay Thai (kickboxing) conditioning drills. Shadow boxing, hand mitt, kicking pads, and heavy bags are incorporated into every class. It is encourage to attend 5 days a week to get a proper full body workout with out over-training your muscles and to continually progress your kickboxing techniques (see below for weekly schedule). Instructors will vary the workouts from week to week to continually “shock” the body to lose weight and build muscle. We like it because it keeps our clients engaged and they never got bored of the same workout so every class feels new and exciting.

In order to accommodate both beginner and advanced clients in one class exercises and drills are modified to the clients specific needs so no matter what your fitness level you are always pushed, challenged, and continually learning.
