10th Planet Jiu Jitsu is a no-gi style of submission grappling developed by Eddie Bravo. It is performed without the use of a traditional Kimono, or martial arts uniform. It focuses on technique and leverage, over strength and athleticism. With proper usage, smaller, weaker people can successfully defend against bigger, stronger opponents. Typically a player wins by controlling an opponent while moving into advantageous positions or by applying joint-locks and chokes to submit an them. 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu is trained for self defense, sport grappling tournaments, mixed martial arts (MMA) competition but mostly for fun.

CrossFit Classes:

  • Mixed CrossFit – These CrossFit classes include mobility skills, weightlifting technique, and metabolic conditioning. Pre-requisite: Fundamentals Academy;
  • VCF Burn (boot camp) – High intensity interval training (HIIT) at its best;
  • Team CrossFit – For those who prefer their CrossFit Classes in a team This is the same as Mixed CrossFit but in team format. Pre-requisite: Fundamentals Academy;
  • CrossFit Kids – CrossFit Kids was founded in 2004 by Jeff and Mikki Martin and is a method for teaching Greg Glassman’s CrossFit to children, ages 3-18. Based on the principle of Mechanics => Consistency => Intensity, CrossFit Kids emphasizes good movement throughout childhood and adolescence. Consistently good mechanics translates to physical literacy, enhanced sports performance, and fewer sports injuries for kids. Not only that, a vast body of research indicates that exercise is beneficial to cognitive function, which means that consistent adherence to the program can have a positive impact on children’s academic achievement;
  • Fundamentals Academy – Designed with the newest CrossFitter in mind, the Fundamentals Academy is a 2 week program consisting of teaching the basic elements of CrossFit and the skill sets it has to offer. All new members will be required to take this course and have each class signed off by their coach before moving into the mixed CrossFit classes. It’s more for safety as well as a way for people to build confidence before trying to throw down in a more intense environment;
  • Open Gym – Utilize this time to do homework from your coach or work on those weaknesses that have been plaguing you. Pre-requisite: Fundamentals Academy.

Corporate Training & Team Building

A six week program for 10 to 30 athletes that includes the following:

  1. Health & Wellness Seminar: Learn what really works for weight loss, strength training, how to repair weak & loose joints, reduce pain, improve posture and increase energy;
  2. Private Group Training two times each week for six weeks;
  3. Nutrition Challenge led by the Valley Nutritionist.

Although strength training is his main channel, Scot Mendelson has won the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic. He is a 5 time WPC world champion powerlifter. A four-time APF national champion powerlifter. He has 64 world records in bench press. Those world record span in many different weight classes.
