  • Adult/Teen (Weapons).

No matter your age, shape, or experience level. This program is specifically for teens and adults who want to learn an effective self defense system.

Instructors:

  • Robert Waltzer Sensei — along with Aikido, he also holds the rank of black belt in Jujitsu and Karate (Go-Ju Ryu). His 40 years of teaching experience is clearly evident in his ability to break down techniques and teach students of all abilities while leading exciting and stimulating classes. Waltzer Sensei trained directly under Richard Bowe Shihan, the U.S. Director of Nihon Goshin Aikido. He is a full-time professional Aikido instructor;
  • David Komatsu — as a youth he spent some time training in Kempo Karate. After college he moved to Japan where he taught English and began his training in Aikido. Upon returning to the U.S., David took a break from martial arts to earn an advanced degree and start a family. He resumed his training in Aikido about 4 years ago at Aikido of Queens and has been training for himself as well as assisting as an instructor in the junior division;
  • Tim Brodlieb — Before his training in Aikido, he practiced Judo, Okinawan Kenpo, Karate, and Kung Fu. Tim has been training at Aikido of Queens for the past 6 years and is the process of testing for Sho Dan (Black belt);
  • Igor Novick — assistant instructor;
  • Aidan Mojica — Aidan began his Nihon Goshin Aikido Training in January of 2013 under the expert instruction of Waltzer Sensei.

Jeet Kune Do at NY Martial Arts Academy In Queens NY Martial Arts Academy In Queens

Bruce Lee named the cutting edge martial art training process he developed "Jeet Kune Do". This training process forms the foundation of what we teach at NY Martial Arts Academy.

The technical aspect of the classes includes elements from muay thai, boxing, jiujitsu and kickboxing. Elbows and knees are prevalent in muay thai but are also a part of Jeet Kune Do. Bruce Lee studied boxing and fencing when developing his art. We borrow certain elements from jiujitsu when addressing self defense situations on the ground.

Childrens Martial Arts classes are focused on teaching:

  • Self-Discipline;
  • Inner Strength;
  • Mental Focus;
  • Self Confidence.
