Intensive Training Program (ITP)

NYJTL Programming in our community programs — CTP, ACES and FACES. Specifically designed for high performance players, NYJTL has announced the new Intensive Training Program (ITP). Its goal is to improve the skills and tournament play of its participants to compete for NYJTLs advanced training spots and to be able to play at the High School, JTT and College levels.

ITP bridges the gap between recreational community-based programs and elite training. It is a FREE program for participants of NYJTL Community Tennis Program, ACES Afterschool Program, and the Cary Leeds Center FACES (Family and Community Engagement Series).

School Time Tennis Program

School Time Tennis Program (STP) trainings are run by NYJTLs certified coaches with the purpose of instructing Physical Education teachers how to teach the fundamentals of tennis in school, and to provide instructional drills and games to use during physical education time.

At the conclusion of training, each participant receives a set of new rackets and balls to be utilized at their respective school. Teachers are provided with lesson links as well as an online recreational coaches’ guide, that contains development plans for children at the early stages of tennis learning. In addition, upon request, we will send experienced NYJTL tennis coaches for FREE to help with implementing the tennis unit duringthe schoolday.
