CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting and Yoga at Depot Crossfit Depot Crossfit 4 Photo

Group CrossFit Classes typically includes:

  1. Dynamic warm-up, including stretching and mobility work. (approx. 10 minutes);

  2. Strength/Skill/Technique session, designed to improve strength or to become more proficient in a particular Olympic lift or gymnastic movement. (approx. 15 minutes);

  3. WOD or conditioning workout, combining strength and cardio movements with high intensity effort. (ranging from 5-20+ minutes);

  4. Cool down and active recovery stretching session. (approx. 5-10 minutes).

Other Classes:

  • Private Training — One-on-one sessions with our coaches are a great way to help you achieve results. One of our coaches will work closely with you to discuss and assess your needs, help identify key weaknesses, and formulate a custom program to help you reach your fitness goals;
  • Elements — CrossFit can significantly improve your overall fitness level, utilizing a broad range of functional movements with “real-world” applicability. However, many of these movements are very different from what you might see in a typical gym, some of which will require you learn very specific techniques;
  • Our Burn program is a High Intensity Interval Training (“HIIT”) program that utilizes lighter weights (or no weights). Burn is designed to push your endurance and agility and help improve your overall CrossFit ability. The class includes full body movements including lunges, box jumps, wall balls, pull ups, rowing, running, ring dips, burpees, among others;
  • Open gym hours provide our members an additional opportunity to work on various skills, techniques, or to simply do their own work out. We always have a coach available during these hours to offer help and address any questions you might have. Open hours is available to all Unlimited memberships at no additional cost;
  • Our Olympic Lifting classes are focused specifically on improving technique and execution of variations of the snatch, clean & jerk, squat, and other related lifts;
  • Competitors Class is open to all members who participate or intend to participate in CrossFit competitions. These classes are held once a week and typically entail longer and even more challenging WODs than in our standard programming (although scaled versions will still be available);
  • Our Yoga classes are designed for athletes to build an integrated, core-foundation and added mobility for increased performance in CrossFit and other sports. It focuses on postures directly correlated to movements that athletes can see in the WODS, with attention centered on breath. Our Yoga classes offer a calming and restorative element, crucial to the progression of athletic performance and serves as a great balance to the dynamic nature of CrossFit.

Weightlifting at Takano Weightlifting Takano Weightlifting 3 Photo 1 Video

Takano Athletics is the leader in both training of athletes and education in the sport of weightlifting.

Weightlifting Classes:

  • Olympic Weightlifting  — This class is design for intermediate to advance Olympic weightlifters;
  • Intro to Olympic WL — This class is perfect for any new athletes to the sport of weightlifting along with anyone that desires to learn the fundamentals correctly;
  • Barbell Strenght — This is our general Strength & Conditioning class with emphasis on the major lifts including squat, press, deadlift, snatch, and C&J.  The purpose of this class is to develop overall strength and muscular development in all the lifts.  Although you will learn and perform snatch and C&J, it is not the focus.

Competition Club — We are looking to field a number of different tiers of competitors.  We plan on having male and female teams for youth, junior, and open levels.

The two greatest benefits of team membership are the training environment and the coaching.  Team members will have a dedicated time on the five North platforms where they will train as a group. This will enable them to develop the training and winning attitude that is absolutely vital for withstanding the severity of training necessary for success in the sport.  The top lifters in the world train in a group setting and the reason for this is the psychological momentum gained from the camaraderie of dedicated team mates.

The team will be trained and supervised by top coach Bob Takano who will individualize the training so that each athlete will develop their competitive skills to the utmost.  No time will be wasted in figuring out the best path.  The best path will be available from day 1.

In addition, team members will have open gym privileges so that missed workouts or multiple trainings can be undertaken at more convenient times.

CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Pilates at Valley CrossFit Valley CrossFit 7 Photo

CrossFit Classes:

  • Mixed CrossFit – These CrossFit classes include mobility skills, weightlifting technique, and metabolic conditioning. Pre-requisite: Fundamentals Academy;
  • VCF Burn (boot camp) – High intensity interval training (HIIT) at its best;
  • Team CrossFit – For those who prefer their CrossFit Classes in a team This is the same as Mixed CrossFit but in team format. Pre-requisite: Fundamentals Academy;
  • CrossFit Kids – CrossFit Kids was founded in 2004 by Jeff and Mikki Martin and is a method for teaching Greg Glassman’s CrossFit to children, ages 3-18. Based on the principle of Mechanics => Consistency => Intensity, CrossFit Kids emphasizes good movement throughout childhood and adolescence. Consistently good mechanics translates to physical literacy, enhanced sports performance, and fewer sports injuries for kids. Not only that, a vast body of research indicates that exercise is beneficial to cognitive function, which means that consistent adherence to the program can have a positive impact on children’s academic achievement;
  • Olympic Weightlifting – Based on the athletic discipline in the modern Olympic program in which the athlete attempts a maximum-weight single lift .In this class we will focus on technique drills as well as percentage lifts in order to fine tune your lifting skills. Pre-requisite: Fundamentals Academy;
  • Women’s Olympic Weightlifting – Unlock you strength and refine your technique in a comfortable environment while focusing on Olympic and Power Weightlifting movements. Pre-requisite: Fundamentals Academy;
  • Iron Pile Powerlifting – Based on the foundations of the Squat, Press and Deadlift. The mechanics of these movements carry over into every aspect of CrossFit and our first priority is proficiency in those movements. Much like CrossFit, the loads, volume, intensity and programming can all be scaled to the individual athlete. So whether you want to test the limits of your strength or simply get that first Pull-up this class will be tailored to each Athlete’s needs;
  • Fundamentals Academy – Designed with the newest CrossFitter in mind, the Fundamentals Academy is a 2 week program consisting of teaching the basic elements of CrossFit and the skill sets it has to offer. All new members will be required to take this course and have each class signed off by their coach before moving into the mixed CrossFit classes. It’s more for safety as well as a way for people to build confidence before trying to throw down in a more intense environment;
  • Open Gym – Utilize this time to do homework from your coach or work on those weaknesses that have been plaguing you. Pre-requisite: Fundamentals Academy.

CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting at Iron Battalion CrossFit Iron Battalion CrossFit 7 Photo

Programs:

  • Attend our Introduction to CrossFit course or conduct Personal Training sessions with one of our coaches to become familiar with CrossFit movements and terminology. CrossFit is incredibly technical, it’s like learning an entirely new sport, so the same way you wouldn’t throw someone off the street onto the Varsity swimming team, we don’t throw people who have never done clean and jerks and snatches, pull ups or rope climbs right into the fast paced regular group classes. Instead, we take the time to properly teach you the movements so you’re confident and safe in your abilities by the time you begin regular group classes;
  • Our CrossFit classes are one-hour in length and consist of a warm up, strength and skill portion work, and the Workout of the Day (WOD);
  • Iron Battalion CrossFit Kids “Little Champs,” “Champs,” and “Teens” programs create superstars out of your children. Our classes include elements of gymnastics, weight lifting, body weight movements, running, jump roping, and more;
  • Olympic Weightlifting — This is a one-hour class that focuses primarily on improving technical execution and increased performance of the snatch, clean & jerk and related lifts. Only Olympic and auxiliary lifts will be practiced at this time. This means there will not be gymnastics, etc.
