Our training is traditional to the ancient practices of the Shaolin Temple of China. The exercises are non-competitive and focuses on the health and wellness of the body.
Shaolin Conditioning & Martial Arts — 80% of the physical training is Shaolin conditioning and drills. Once the body is conditioned well enough with adequate endurance, flexibility, agility, etc. The conditioning drills and movements will then be used to learn the advance forms and weapons routines. Advanced students of all ages have the option of training to become part of the Yanfan Shaolin Performance team.

At Seven Stars Kung Fu we practice the stye of Northern Seven Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu. Northern Seven Star Praying Mantis was invented by a man named Wong Long. Wong Long was a refugee at the Shaolin temple and a rebel against the standing government. At the time it was the habit of the temple to provide refuge to many people, like most modern day churches. Because of this many martial arts styles have passed through the Shaolin Temple and have been spread through out China from there.
Lawrence and his instructors offer classes for kids, adults, law enforcement, and a strong program for special needs kids and adults.

At the Studio we cover all the bases. We study the self-defense aspect of this ancient martial art. We study breath, meditation and energy work. We talk about Taoist philosophy and how it is still relevant in our daily lives.
All classes offered by the Studio are based on the Hidden Tradition of the Yang Family of Tai Chi Chuan, or Yangjia Michuan Taijiquan. Classes cover the empty hand forms, basic exercises, meditation, applications, and Push Hands. Advanced students can also study sword and staff forms.
While we do teach basic self defense we do not fight in our school. At the same time we do not teach dance either. Wushu has evolved into the performance sport you see today and while the movements are highly exaggerated and beautiful, there are always hidden applications beyond the surface.
We adhere to a strict four year black belt program which includes 1 year of basics in wushu and basic self defense, followed by 3 years of empty hand (Changquan, fighting set, and Nanquan), weapons (sabre, staff, sword and spear), including beginning, intermediate and advanced compulsory routines and advanced fighting sets.
International, individual, traditional routines and weapons are taught after the four year Black Belt program has been completed.
